Pop-up class!  Coldworking basics in a single day.

Coldworking is the difference between making an ordinary piece and making one that will stand out from the crowd.  Almost every coldworking tool has multiple purposes, ranging from the industrial to the artistic.  Jody will cover this range.

Equipment covered includes the lap wheel, tile saw, lathe, and the wet belt sander.  Sandblasting and engraving will also be covered, as well as coldworking using diamond hand pads and loose grit.

Making Unique Fused Glass Jewelry

Want to make glass jewelry that stands out from the crowd?  Here's a fused glass jewelry class that focuses on designs and techniques that go beyond simply slapping a piece of clear on top of a dichroic scrap. 

We'll use both regular and dichroic glass to make basic pendants and cabochons, including more advanced techniques such as creating murrini, dichroic etching, and more.  We'll also cover basic coldworking and finishing techniques for jewelry, including hole drilling, grinding, and polishing.

Glass and Stone:  Pocket Sculptures

This workshop is based on processes taught by artist Weston Lambert, and is offered with his permission and blessing.  In two busy days we'll cover the basics of combining diverse materials, with a focus on combining glass and stone to create small "pocket sculptures" that can be made quickly with basic coldworking tools and techniques.

You'll be able to bring and use your own stones or choose from the selection we'll have available.  You'll also have a range of options for the glass to include, from previously made pieces to pieces we'll craft in the class.  And best of all, you'll take home at least two pocket sculptures of your own.

At last!  After many requests, for the first time ever, Jody offers a workshop that covers the techniques she uses to create her beautiful free-flowing Pate de Verre Sucré sculptures.  Pate de Verre Sucré, so-named because the pieces have a sugar-like texture, rather than the smoother texture more commonly found in Pate de Verre, is a technique that Jody developed and perfected over many years.

This special workshop will cover every facet of Jody's technique, from creating your own mold to mixing colors to assembling and firing.

Registration must be made prior to the start of all courses. A deposit of one half the course tuition must be paid at the time of registration, with the balance due thirty days prior to the beginning of the course. No space can be held without payment, and spaces will be held on a first-come, first-saved basis.

Once registered, you will receive a written confirmation. You will also be notified of tools required for the course and given any other relevant information. Please notify us if you do not hear from us by one week prior to the class.

Registration may be made by email, by fax, or by regular mail. To register by email, simply contact us by clicking on the "Contact us" link at the bottom right of the page. We'll get back to you to confirm a spot in the class and to pass on information about how to make your tuition payment or deposit. Cancellation policy: A full refund, less a $25 processing fee, will be made if you cancel more than 30 days prior to the course. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the course, a refund (less processing fee) will be made ONLY if we are able to fill your space.
